The media has really fanned the fire the last couple of years when it comes to the topic of racism. I remember in the early 2000’s that racism seemed like a lesser issue. In my personal life, there seemed to be very few problems with racism and those around me.  It was only until the last few years that it started becoming a real issue again – due to the media CONSTANTLY talking about it, pointing out every nuance and throwing a can of gasoline on it.  However, Morgan Freeman finally said what the media should pay attention to, “Stop talking about”. Check out the video below.

Clip 1 Transcribed:

Interviewer (Mike Wallace): Black history month, you find?
Morgan Freeman: Ridiculous.
Interviewer: Why?
Morgan Freeman: You’re going to relegate my history to a month?
Interviewer: Oh come on.
Morgan Freeman: What do you do with yours? Which month is white history month?
Interviewer: I’m Jewish.
Morgan Freeman: Ok, which month is Jewish history month?
Interviewer:  There isn’t one.
Morgan Freeman:  Oh…why not? Do you want one?
Interviewer: No..no.
Morgan Freeman:  I don’t either. I don’t want a black history month. Black history is American history.
Interviewer: How are we going to get rid of racism…
Morgan Freeman: Stop talking about it (racism). I’m going to stop calling you a white man and I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace and you know me as Morgan Freeman.
